Kindergarten matters: The importance of kindergarten in the development of young children

Position paper from the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario recognizes the importance of kindergarten programs in Ontario schools and their role in ensuring that all children have access to high quality early childhood education programs. The paper outlines the Federation's position on various issues related to high quality kindergarten. It also makes recommendations to the provincial government about improving the level of support for kindergarten and other early years programs and services that support the development and health of young children.
