This paper contains highlights from the Child Care Human Resources Sector Council (CCHRSC)'s Training Strategy Project (TSP).
To date, the project has focused on gaining an understanding of current needs and trends related to training, by gathering the experiences and perspectives of students and faculty in Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs and other sector stakeholders, including employers.
This document focuses on preliminary project findings as of April, 2007, including:
- results of surveys conducted with current ECE students and faculty;
- results of follow-up surveys conducted with former ECE students who participated in the 2004 labour market update study Working for Change; and
- information gathered during focus groups and interviews with key stakeholders, including employers.
