As part of the 8th Annual Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day on October 22, 2008, Pauline Marois (leader of the Parti Québécois) was invited to Ryerson University to speak about her leadership in establishing an affordable child care system in Quebec.
In honour of her work in Quebec, the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care presented its first award for child care advocacy to Ms. Marois.
