This issue of Our Schools/Our Selves takes stock of where we are and where we need to be in the child care debates.  In the lead-up to a national election that is very much about how we care for our children and how we support families in that task, it brings together researchers, activists and analysts to provide a thoughtful, nuanced, accessible overview of key child care issues. In the effort to build a national child care program that responds to and meets the needs of families and children from coast to coast to coast, the authors provide insights about how to ensure a system that is stable, accessible, high quality and adequately funded, helping build vibrant, equitable, empowered, compassionate, cohesive communities.

Selected articles are now available online. Additional online articles will become available over the next weeks.
